Ramadan Kareem EVERYONE :)

I did not enjoy it much.. & for some reason, I
promised myself not to have my meal from junk-food restaurants no
matter what happens...
So what are my resolutions?
*) It is one of the greatest priorities
to recite verses from the Holy Quran with Tadabbor until I seal
it at least twice.
رمضان شهر القرآن
*) Everyday it is a must to Pray Qiyam
with my lil sis at the mosque.
*) Everyday it is a must to listen to at
least 1 Islamic Lecture.
*) Every now and then I should pay a
visit to my grandma.
*) I hope, I won't neglect my
daily-walking-for-30-minutes rituals :p
لا تنسون.. للصائم دعوة لا ترد
استغلوا الفرص في الدعاء
pray to get whatever you want in this
life & the hereafter :D it is all about the LAW OF ATTRACTION & Acting
upon your dreams and targets... ;)
قال تعالى:
"وَأَن
لَّيْسَ لِلإِنسَانِ إِلاَّ مَا سَعَى (39) وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُ سَوْفَ
يُرَى (40)"

(Me hanging out after spending 3 weeks at home)...
I am glad I could make it to hang out
with my friend Unknown... I am also happy, because I did not
get a lot of books from
Magrudy.. I
only ordered {I Capture the Castle} & bought {A Place Called Here by
Cecelia}...

I was tempted by the color of the cover..

At last got the pinky one for myself..

Got this one for my youngest sis

& this is for my sis 3allaya..

The Kite Runner..

Here is my shelfarian review on The Kite
Runner:
Oh,
my! a resplendent Shahbas must be delivered to Khaled
Hosseini on a golden plate, fragmented with a scent of a
miraculous odor... & it is never enough to express my gratitude and
happiness to this gifted writer. Really, it takes me to read 100
selective novels to find something as marvelous, touching, & humorous
as this... As for now, I do not think that there is a novel which
outweighs this one. It has become the noor of my eye ;)
The Kite Runner
The story is rich in metaphor & character development. The first plot
and the secondary plot are so intriguing... The ending is so
comforting...
It is about the hero Amir, a son of a great rich Pashtun, who
spent his most wonderful childhood memories in Afghanistan with his
faithful & loyal friend Hassan, the Hazara boy... and then one
day, all the beautiful childhood dreams vanish, leaving memories which
pierce Amir's heart with pangs of remorse for years. . Amir appears to
be so cold & disloyal at times & he gets on my nerves, but eventually
his guilt leads him to good…
Some tragedies are fated, & life goes on.
Zendagi Migzara... but can we really bury the past easily?
...........................
Somehow, the story made me reminisce in the memories of last year -
Munich, when I spent a wonderful time at the Afghan restaurant {Lemar}
owned by Salim Khan's mother... My favorite dish was Qabuli,
meat with rice, with Dogh, yogurt or LBAN... Yum Yum Yum.. :D
it amused me to find Salim's sister working at the same restaurant,
wearing american-style clothes. However, she was not supposed to smile
with the german ppl and chit-chat with them.. that would perhaps stain
the Nang & Namoos, honor & pride, of her family!
This year, a wonderful Afghan teacher, who had dimpled cheeks, & a
lovely sense of humor, taught us some lessons about Physiology &
L.I.F.E.. Guess what his name was! SALIM KHAN as well :p I will
always remember how he used to talk about his father & all the
Pashtuns with a tone of Pride. He used to tell us that he always
feared the look of his father even when he grew older & got married...
That fear came out of RESPECT...”?
